This class teaches how to be an effective leader. Concepts include goal setting, motivation, team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, ethics, diversity and much more. Students may be eligible to receive three (3) credits of concurrent enrollment at Dixie State University. Supervision Management. Provides preparation in functions of organizations, communications, personnel management, leadership, motivation, employee appraisal, productivity, and career paths. Students will exercise management decision-making skills and problem solving techniques in-group discussion by using up-to-date case analysis. Instruction is designed to provide basic marketing competencies. Principles, practices, and procedures are taught without particular identification with a specific enterprise, product, or service. Industrial and consumer goods are discussed relating to their channel of distribution. Marketing Essentials. Required of students pursuing a General Marketing degree; and open to other interested students. Covers the vocabulary and the basic understanding of the marketing concepts, including an overview of the process of target marketing, marketing opportunities, product and distribution decisions, integrated marketing communications and pricing policies, with an emphasis on practical decisions for small businesses. This course will explore the various careers related to the Travel Industry utilizing hands-on experiences. Concepts covered include hotel/motel management, travel agency business ownership, air and ground travel, and cruises. The course will promote an awareness of travel destinations, entertainment, job-seeking skills, and human relations skills. Students will intern at local businesses. Students will be prepared to seek entry-level positions in a variety of areas related to the industry. |
